The light was just starting to fade, the sun slipping behind the blurred tree line. Caecis stood there, her pale eyes staring and watching the sun darken with her paws in water that lapped gently at her light forelegs. The water was always so comforting, a clear blanket that could envelop one in warmth or suffocate them gently. Either way, it didn't matter much, Caecis could barely make out the small fish that scuttled beneath the surface none the less see the ripples that rolled across the surface. Smoothly, the alpha fae lifted her paws out and onto the steady ground that hummed with life, pulling herself from the sucking depths that her faded vision imagined. Although she was not blind, Caecis definitely did not have the best sight in the pack, but here she was still, holding the land captive with a soft hold. It had been awhile since Soran had been around and silently she wondered where he could be, it wasn't as though they were a mated pair or anything, she simply worried for her other half.
Caecis pushed her nails into the soft dirt beneath her paws, pushing the thought out of her mind and closed her eyes, letting her ears and nose see for her. Around her the sounds amplified, the sound of gently lapping water became a roar and the birds' twitters screeched. The smells thickened in her nostrils and threatened to overwhelm, but soon enough it was as though she were staring at the view in front of her, everything sparked into a higher definition and slowly she took a step forward. When she didn't smack into a tree, she took another step, more confident this time, slowly following the familiar smells of the undergrowth and the small animals that skittered, frightened from the canine. A few times, Caecis's fur was snagged by burrs, but outside of it being slightly annoying to tug away, nothing else occurred. Her view was something spectacular to behold, but no one else would ever really be able to reach out to it. The blind would never know what the forest looked like, and those gifted with sight would never be able to feel and hear everything that she could.
Colors expanded out in front of her, distinct trails left by different creatures, and the foliage was alight with their own scent, seeming to glow as she imagined their form. Every fiber, every tuft of fur was ablaze with sensitivity, her body hummed, attuned to the earth around her and she felt as though she could feel each and every life source that lived in her world.
